Who I am...

I have practiced law in Lake County for almost 30 years as the owner of my own firm in Waukegan.  My law practice is limited to criminal trials and appeals so I have had a great deal of experience with the Lake County Sheriff's office and the Lake County Jail administered by the Sheriff.  I have seen a lot of ways in which we could make our system work better to protect the people.

My trial experience includes hundreds of trials and hearings of every kind from first degree murder to DUI.  I am certified as lead counsel in death penalty cases by the Illinois Supreme Court. As a member of the Lake County Bar Association, I have served as chairman of the Misdemeanor and Traffic Committeee, the Criminal Law Committee and the Judicial Selection and Retention Committee.

What does all that mean to you?

My long experience means that I have developed an eye for what can be improved in the Sheriff's department, both in making it work better and saving taxpayer dollars. I am also an experienced leader and administrator with many ideas on who to run the Sheriff's department. 

I am eager to begin the process of making sure that the Sheriff's department always has service to citizens as its top priority.
